Wills & Estate Planning

Making a Will is just good common sense. Find out how we can help you make your Will or Legacy.

Will Writing Service

There are many reasons why you should make a Will, such as:

  • If you do not make a Will then you shall have no say in how your estate should be distributed upon your death and those whom you wish to benefit may not do so
  • If you do not make a Will then your estate shall be administered according to the rules of Intestacy. However, under these rules the surviving spouse can be treated quite harshly
  • A Will can be an effective tax planning tool, through which your inheritance tax liability can be reduced or avoided altogether

If you wish to make a Will or if you have any query relating to making a Will or Estate Planning then please contact GCS Solicitors now by emailing your query to oisin@gcsarmagh.co.uk

Upon receipt of your enquiry we shall contact you and outline what further information we require from you in order to enable us to draft a Will on your behalf and to ensure that the legal formalities are complied with.

Our job is to give you peace of mind about what will happen after you die. We can provide you with the reassurance of knowing that you have made sensible provision for your loved ones by preparing a legally valid and properly drafted Will on your behalf. If you are unclear as to why you should make a Will or what would happen if you die without making a Will, then you may find our Will facts below useful.

Frequently Asked Questions About Wills:

1. What is a Will?

A Will is a document in which you outline what you would like to happen to your estate upon your death. Your estate comprises of any assets that you own at the date of your death. No matter how little you feel your estate is worth, it is important that you make a Will. Your Will is your opportunity for you to confirm:

  1. who you wish to appoint as Executor to your Will; and
  2. how you would like to have your funeral arranged; and
  3. whether you wish to provide to charity; and
  4. who you wish to give your personal items to; and
  5. who you wish to act as Guardian for your children; and
  6. how you wish to provide for your children

2. What happens if you don't make a Will?

If you don't make a Will then delays in dealing with your estate may be caused, along with unnecessary anxiety for family members and your loved ones. If you die without leaving a Will then your estate shall be distributed accordingly to the laws of Intestacy and you shall have no say in relation to the distribution of your estate.

3. How much will making a Will cost?

Making a Will can be relatively inexpensive. However, because the complexity of each Will can vary we shall provide you with a quotation, upon receipt of your formal enquiry.
